About Us | A Memorial To Greg Cox

GREG COX, 1962-1981 was born in Colorado Springs, reared in Boulder and died as the result of a vehicular accident in Casper, Wyoming in June, 1981. He was on the honor roll at Fairview High School when he graduated in 1980. He was on vacation after completing his first semester in college when he was killed.
RON LYLE was a great amateur and professional boxer, a top heavyweight contender. His bouts against Foreman and Ali are still shown as "greatest fights of the century." Ron was Greg's "Idol" for 10 years while he was growing up. Greg was a model for the "Ron Lyle" tee shirts and even traveled as far as Madison Square Garden in New York to see Ron box.
Ron Lyle is from Denver but currently trains young boxers in Las Vegas. Ron's dream for over 20 years has been to come home and operate a facility to help young people.
Greg had no opportunity to "make his mark" in the world. Greg's sister, Susan and I have decided to help Ron realize his "dream" and create a memorial to Greg by establishing THE COX/LYLE COMMUNITY YOUTH CENTER, a place to get kids off the streets and into a healthy environment.
Although this project is no longer in it's formative stages, we still need support. We need everything. And we greatly appreciate anything. Volunteers, money, corporate sponsorship, legal assistance, organizational leadership, a location, etc, etc. We are looking to pattern this facility in other areas that need support. Please indicate your area of assistance.
Thank you and God Bless.
Sincerely,
Bob Cox
